Maxine Hong Kingston on WBAI's Asia Pacific Forum

Perhaps no book has had greater significance within Asian American literature than Maxine Hong Kingston's The Woman Warrior. Since its publication in 1976, the book has been widely read, taught, and analyzed, and has changed the fields of literature and autobiography. At one time, it was said to be the most frequently assigned book on college campuses. Now thirty years later, we will speak with the author about The Woman Warrior's impact and legacy, and about her hopes for the book's next thirty years.
