We will also read and discuss the short fiction of established authors through the lens of a practicing writer, engaging with the questions and challenges of what it means to be a writer today.

Bill Cheng is the author of the novel Southern Cross the Dog which was long-listed for the Center for Fiction’s 2013 Flaherty-Dunnan’s First Novel Prize and the 2014 PEN Open Book Award. He received his BA in creative writing from Baruch College and is a graduate of Hunter College’s MFA program. Born and raised in Queens, he currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife.
