2022 Asian American Caucus

How can Asian American writers build a more robust network? What does it mean to be a writer of color in these times? This fourth annual Asian American Caucus, which took place on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in Philadelphia, PA was a town hall-style hang out and community space where AWP conference attendees had the opportunity to meet other Asian American writers and discuss fellowships, publication opportunities, and resources available to support each other.

Together, we discussed the following questions:

  • What role can the arts play in abolition?
  • What have you experienced at this conference in the past three days that inspires you and helps you feel connected as part of the Asian American and Pacific Islander literary community?
  • How can we, as literary organizations, serve you best? What topics, themes, and resources would you like to see in our programming?
