It’s time to bring your words and music-making talents to the stage again. Our Mouth-to-Mouth Open Mic series is back for its best season yet! Polish off the skeletons in the family closet and bring your poems/fiction/songs/comedy the theme of ANCESTORS.

Veteran open mic host Ed Lin will master the ceremonies, and special guest photographer An Rong Xu will share images and text from his new book Grandpa. Come participate in a night of readings, performances, and artistic reflection, as we look back on our lineage and remember our the ones we came from.

This event is open to the public. $5 suggested donation. Come at 6:30 PM to sign up for a 5-minute slot! Program starts at 7 PM.

Mouth to Mouth is AAWW’s open mic, hosted by novelist Ed Lin, that brings together literary writers, stand-up comedians and you.

An Rong Xu is a documentary photographer and sensitive artist from New York’s Chinatown. His work explores identity within the Chinese American community, and the evolving social philosophy within, while photographing the transition from immigrant to American. His debut publication, Grandpa, is a visual feast that poignantly details the recent development of his relationship with his grandfather.
