Angelo Mao is a biomedical regulatory scientist and writer. His first book of poems, Abattoir (2021), won the Burnside Review Press Book Award. His poems have appeared in Poetry Magazine, The Georgia Review, The Drift, and AGNI, and his prose about poetry has appeared in Poetry Northwest, The Adroit Journal, and elsewhere. He also edits DIALOGIST, an online poetry journal.
