Emmanuel Barrameda is a writer from Virac, Catanduanes. He is the author of P’wera Bisita (2018), winner of the National Book Award for Fiction; Balager (2020), winner for the National Book Award for Nonfiction; Distrungka (2022); Virac: Tatlong Sanaysay (2023); Agua de Mayo (2024); and Pamamahay: Mga Sanaysay (2024). Bunô, his first novel, received the 2023 National Commission for Culture and the Arts Writers’ Prize. He is a member of Kataga: Samahan ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas, Inc. He holds a degree in secondary education, major in Filipino, from the Philippine Normal University where he won the Gawad Genoveva Edroza Matute in 2013.
