JoAnn Balingit

JoAnn Balingit is a community writing teacher and former librarian who served as Delaware’s poet laureate from 2008 to 2015. Her poems and essays appear in Asian American Literary Review, The Common, The Nation, Poetry, The Rumpus, and Words for House Story (2013). She’s investigating her paternal history via Kapampángan language and culture for a memoir-in-progress. She has received support from the Fulbright Scholar program, Hedgebrook, Bread Loaf Writers, VCCA, VONA, and Macondo Writers. Her favorite street food in Angeles City, Pampanga, is TAHO!
