Julian Saporiti is a songwriter from Nashville. For seven years he has explored overlapping transpacific histories, including his own family of Vietnamese refugees, through music in a multimedia project he calls No-No Boy. This work is a part of his doctoral studies at Brown University. In the early 2000s, Saporiti led the indie rock band The Young Republic. He has taught courses on songwriting, popular music, cultural studies and a travel course called the “American Road” at the University of Wyoming, and most recently taught the first-ever Intro to Asian American Studies course at Colorado College.
