Lenna Jawdat is a poet and writer based in DC on Anacostan land. Her work, which explores themes of trauma, identity and resilience, has appeared in Poet Lore, The Massachusetts Review, Passengers Journal, Koukash Review, and elsewhere. She was a 2021 Best of the Net nominee for her poem “Ode to the Psoas.” Lenna received her MFA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts in May 2024 and is out on submission for her first book, which blends memoir and documentary poetics with visual elements.
