Nguyễn Dữ
Nguyễn Dữ (阮與) was a Vietnamese scholar whose background remains largely mysterious. He was born in northern Vietnam in the sixteenth century, a time of significant political changes. Like his character Từ Thức, he served as a mandarin but soon resigned to live in seclusion. The Truyền kỳ mạn lục is his only surviving work.
