Shayok Misha Chowdhury

Shayok Misha Chowdhury is an Obie and Whiting Award–winning writer and director. Public Obscenities, his playwriting debut, was one of three finalists for the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The “extraordinary bilingual drama” was a New York Times Critic’s Pick and hailed as a “literary marvel” by The New Yorker. Misha’s many-tentacled practice in theater, music, poetry, and film has also earned him The Relentless Award, the Mark O’Donnell Prize, a United States Artists Fellowship, a Princess Grace Award, a Jonathan Larson Grant, two Sundance fellowships, and a Fulbright Fellowship.
