Sophia Tareen is a writer based in Brooklyn. As a 2022 Open City Fellow, she will explore how immigrant communities interact with and shape their relationship with digital technologies. Sophia works in civic tech to increase access to public services and with several archival projects to preserve stories of underrepresented communities. Sophia aims to center overlooked perspectives and shift power to historically marginalized voices.
