This week in digital programming at AAWW: we check in with Celeste Ng at home, a new podcast series on the world of publishing, and a poetry reading with MIZNA.
April 16, 2020
Welcome to Press Play, a new weekly round-up of our digital programming to keep you company at home. We’re launching a new video series, sharing a podcast series on the world of publishing, and held our first only-only poetry reading.
- We launched AAWW at Home, a new biweekly video series where we catch up with our favorite writers while they’re self-isolating at home. Watch our first episode with Celeste Ng, who shares a favorite poem by Muriel Rukeyser and the organizations she’s supporting in this moment.
- On AAWW Radio we’re re-sharing the audio from panels from our 2016 PubCon, where writers like Jenny Zhang, Alice Sola Kim, and Kaitlyn Greenidge talk the ins and outs of the publishing world. All three episodes are available to listen on a podcast app of your choice: Finding Your Writing Community, What I Wish I Knew Before I Got My MFA, and Breaking Into Speculative Fiction.
- We held our first online-only reading in collaboration with MIZNA and the Poetry Coalition. You can watch the video from this special poetry reading with Andrea Abi-Karam, Romaissa Benzizoune, Susan Muadi-Darraj, and Sham-e-Ali Nayeem on our YouTube page.
That’s all for this week in digital programming at AAWW. Check back here every Thursday for a weekly round-up of our online happenings!
