AAWW’s arts outreach and education program CreateNow brings community arts programming directly to New York City senior centers and public high schools. Taught by teaching artists from our community, CreateNow brings together youth, seniors, and emerging writers into a cross-generational artistic community. We currently hold classes in five different sites throughout New York City, working with immigrant and youth communities. CreateNow programming is a natural extension of the AAWW’s work in curating and incubating Asian American storytellers, by bringing the power of the arts directly to underserved and immigrant communities.

CreateNow allows AAWW to bring extraordinary and inspiring teaching artists to work closely with students in a series of creative literary workshops that help people of all ages and across generations to find their own authentic writing voices. In addition to the opportunity to work closely with and receive guidance from accomplished professional writers, students find a place to create new and meaningful connections with each other.

CreateNow is always looking to expand our pool of talented and creative teaching artists. If you’re interested in joining the team please fill out this application form.
