Kione Akao Kochi (赤尾 木織音, she/her/hers) is a translator, textile artist and traditional craft researcher. Born in Japan to Japanese and third-generation Japanese American parents, Kione graduated from Bennington College with a focus in Visual Arts and Garment Construction. She creates textile works under her eponymous brand, and currently works as a research coordinator at Kyoto Seika University. Kione is also an associate member of Arts Translators Collective.
