Saengmany Ratsabout

Saengmany Ratsabout (He/Him/His), a former refugee from Laos, Saengmany is a Minnesota-based independent scholar with research interests in migration history, U.S. refugee resettlement programs and policies, experiences of immigrants and refugees, return migration, and social remittances. Saengmany has over 20 years of experience as a community advocate and program strategist working with immigrant and refugee communities at the local and national level on projects ranging from public history to civic engagement. As a specialist in Southeast Asian and Southeast Asian American Studies, Saengmany has served as a consultant to international media organizations, philanthropic institutions, and civil society on issues relating to the Southeast Asian American experiences. Saengmany holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, a Masters of Arts in Southeast Asian Studies, and a Masters of Liberal Studies.
