Sowmiya Awad

Sowmiya Awad writes about politics, immigration, race, religion, social justice and gender. A graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, she wrote an article in The Atlantic about how a growing number of Americans are choosing ‘Other’ on U.S. census forms.
