Fred Ho (1957-2014) was an acclaimed composer, baritone saxiphonist, scholar, and activist who founded the Afro Asian Music Ensemble. He was the first Asian American to receive the Duke Ellington Distinguished Artist Lifetime Achievement Award. Ho passed away on April 12, 2014 after an eight-year battle with colon cancer.
