huiying b. chan

huiying b. chan is a visionary poet, ceremonialist, energy healing practitioner, and educator born and raised on Lenape Land. huiying’s work lives at the intersections of personal and societal transformation, and is rooted in deep love and belief in liberation. huiying is a former Open City Fellow who has also received fellowships from Kundiman, VONA/ Voices, and DreamYard. His poem “how we survived: 爺爺’s pantoum (i)” was selected by Kaveh Akbar for Best New Poets 2021. huiying’s work also appears in The OffingThe Shade Journal, and The Asian American Journal of Psychology. As a Chancellor’s Graduate Fellow at Rutgers University-Newark, huiying is working on a poetry manuscript that explores matriarchal legacies, self-remembrance, and queer and trans lineages.
