Vince Schleitwiler has written for numerous academic journals and newspapers, including African American Review, Amerasia Journal, Comparative Literature, the International Examiner, and the Village Voice. His essays have been serialized online at the Center for Art and Thought and in the brochure and website for Rea Tajiri’s WATARIDORI: birds of passage, a multisite public art installation in Philadelphia. His first book, Strange Fruit of the Black Pacific, was published by NYU Press. A fourth-generation Japanese American, he currently lives in Seattle, and teaches comparative ethnic studies at the University of Washington.
