Jhong C. Delacruz, RN Jhong as his/their friends call him, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Certificate in Global Health at the University of the Philippines Manila – Philippine General Hospital in 2014, where he was first organized into different discussions and protests against the neoliberal policies and budget cuts of the Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III regime. He migrated to the US and has since worked in various hospitals and nursing facilities while still organizing with Migrante DC and Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. He currently resides and works as an Infection Control and Quality Assurance nurse in Maryland, and translates his homeland’s literature in his spare time.
