The Sentence Called You

I stow away the sentences in which there is no you in my drawer right after writing them I remember the time when I emptied the bottom of my drawer for you There I found stuff like a key that became useless forever

The Sentence Called You

I murmur you every day If you and I were a sentence I would live with you in that one sentence We need neither quotations nor references except for a few simple punctuation marks to modify it Making insipid jokes with impossible inversion and outdated metaphors I write you every day On some days you are restarted at the very moment when a period is put and on some other days you seem to have ended for good which makes me afraid I cook hot and tasty sentences so as not to skip a meal as long as possible I stow away the sentences in which there is no you in my drawer right after writing them I remember the time when I emptied the bottom of my drawer for you There I found stuff like a key that became useless forever movie tickets with their titles erased palace admission tickets used on one fine spring day and an instant camera and dried flower petals Today I hesitated for quite a while and put a comma next to you again though now I desperately wish it to be kept empty In the next compartment I wait for you You, who sit crouched like a comma You, who must have started from a very tiny and round dot So I think of the sentence that all these things start from The sentence in which there is you and a comma and I next to it I am blinking in a place where I can no longer read the sentence that no one else but you and I had ever written Have you gone far off from there Like babies taking their first steps You,
